Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr is a vasodilator used to prevent angina (chest pain).
Prior to Use
Be aware that pre-existing medical conditions, or taking additional medications could interfere with the
effectiveness of this one. Let your physician or pharmacist know about any other medications -- prescription or over-the-counter -- that you are using. If you are taking any of the following, do not use Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr: sildenafil. Inform your physician of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. If you have questions or concerns about Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr, be sure to let your physician or pharmacist know.
Instructions for Use
Follow your physician's instructions for taking Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr. Swallow whole Do not crush or chew before swallowing. You may break the tablet in half before taking it, if so directed by your physician. Take Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr with half of a glass of water or other liquid. Store Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. Keep Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr in the container in which it was dispensed. Should you skip or forget a dose of Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr, begin using it immediately. If it is late in the day, omit the skipped dose and continue to follow your original dosing schedule. Never take more than one dose at the same time.
Warnings
Do not stop taking Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr without first discussing it with your physician. Stopping suddenly may bring on an angina attack. Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr may cause dizziness or lightheadedness. This may be especially noticeable after getting up from a lying or sitting position. Drinking alcohol with Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr will add to this effect. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr. When you begin using Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr, headaches are likely to occur. Ask your physician for instructions on ways to reduce this side effect. Men, do not take viagra (sildenafil) while using Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr. Women, if you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your physician the benefits and risks of using Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr during pregnancy. The effects of Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr on breast milk is not known. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr, consult your pharmacist or physician to discuss the risks to your baby.
Potential Side Effects
Side effects, that may go away during treatment, include headache, dizziness, or nausea. If they worsen, continue, or are bothersome, check with your physician. Let your physician, pharmacist, or nurse know if you experience any side-effects not listed here.
Drug interactions
Drug interactions can result in unwanted side effects or prevent a medicine from doing its job.
In Case of Overdose
Contact a poison control center or visit an emergency room immediately, if you think you have overdosed. Indications of an overdose are throbbing headache, confusion, dizziness, perspiring skin, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, slow pulse, and loss of consciousness.

Do not let anyone else use Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr. Do not take Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr to treat health conditions other than what it was prescribed for. Store this and all medication away from the reach of children. If using Isosorbide Mononitrate Cr for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
